What will you do while visiting my pets?
There are a number of services we offer specific to each client’s needs. Please refer to the details on the Services page. Typically, we will spend 1/2 an hour or more with your pets on each visit, based on your requirements.

How often will you visit my pets? go to the top of the page
This is up to you. For households with cats I typically visit once a day and in some instances twice daily. For households with dogs we usually visit a minimum of twice a day and for some clients three or four time a day is needed. We are very flexible and more than happy to accommodate what feels right for you.

What days and hours do you work?
We work seven days a week and the hours depend upon our clients needs. Our visits can start very early in the morning and end late at night. We feel flexibility is an important facet of the service we provide. We also recognize that each client has very unique needs for us to fulfill.

How much notice do I have to give you?

We would like to think that we could respond to your needs at any given time. However, given our busy schedule we would appreciate as much notice as possible. One weeks notice would be appreciated and for major holidays at least one months notice is advisable. (Many of our clients book for the holidays weeks in advance; you may want to think sbout scheduling our services well in advance of high travel times and major holidays).

Do you have any references?

Yes. We encourage you to call several of our references within the Lamorinda communities that have already used our service. We know you will feel much more comfortable and confident once you’ve spoken to some of our existing clients.

How long are your dog walks; how many dogs will you walk at the same time?

Our dog walks last at least ½ an hour or longer, depending on the size, breed and health of the dog(s). We walk each client’s dog(s) individually and do not offer group walks at this time. Our dog walking service is exclusive to each client. If there is more than one dog in the household they will all be walked together unless otherwise required.

Do you provide transportation for my pets?
Yes. We offer pet taxi service to local vets, dog groomers or other pet services as needed. Our vehicle is equipped with a dog crate so dogs can be transported safely. Clients should provide carriers for their own cats.

If my pet becomes ill while I’m away what will you do ? go to the top of the page
Assuming you have authorized Animal House to do so, we will transport your pet to your vet or a local emergency veterinary clinic (in off hours) should the need arise.

Can you share caring for my pets with a neighbor, friend or relative?

Sure. We often encounter scenarios where others are pitching in to provide care for your pets. As far as we’re concerned if this adds to your pets’ comfort and security during your absence then we welcome the help.

How do you handle the keys to my home?

This is a very important step in the process. Assuming you have authorized Animal House to retain a key for future work the key is secretly coded and kept securely on file in our office.

Are you bonded or insured?

Yes, Animal House is fully insured and bonded. If you would be more comfortable with evidence of our coverages, we would be happy to provide you with copies of our policies.
